Gill Newsome is the Group Vice President, Amazon Global Partnership at Splunk. Gill enjoys leading and motivating cross functional teams and has 27 years IT industry experience driving Enterprise and Public Sector teams as well as various channel and alliance sales teams. Throughout her career, Gill has thrived in driving innovation and being a pioneer in the go to market sector. Whilst at Splunk, she has created and led the innovation and introduction of a Splunk Immersion Experience Centre (SIE) and sustainability joint initiative with AWS. Gill leaned into early investment with AWS Marketplace where Splunk can offer their solutions to the millions of AWS customers. She recognized that the future of software procurement had to change in order to accelerate innovation. As a result, she was an early adopter of AWS Marketplace, where again Splunk is one of the top ISVs on AWS Marketplace which has consistently achieved over 130% YoY growth. Another way Gill was forward thinking was investing in channel partners and moving the business through AWS Marketplace with channel partners globally, resulting in over 170% YoY growth. Gill is a champion of diversity and was listed in CRN’s annual "Women of the Channel" list honours exceptional women for their strategic vision, thought leadership and channel advocacy that impacts growth and innovation in the channel 2022 and 2023. Growing up in a military family and travelling most of her life - Gill now lives in North Yorkshire with her husband and 2 children.
